Keep Joomla Up-to-date Print

It is important to keep your Joomla! website and Joomla! extensions up to date to prevent hackers from attacking your site. Updating is easy and only takes a few minutes.

Before applying any updates, be sure to backup your website first and test the backup to make sure that it is working.

An untested backup is a s good as no backup at all!

To Update Joomla:

1. Log in to your Joomla Administrator panel
2. Click on "Compnents"
3. Click on "Joomla! Update"
4. Follow the instructions to update Joomla

To update Joomla extensions:

1. to your Joomla Administrator panel
2. Click on "Extensions"
3. Click on "Manage"
4. On the left, click on "Update"
5. Follow the instructions to update Joomla extensions
